Police hunting man who performed sex act on train

POLICE are hunting a man who performed a sex act on a train in front of a teenager.

The incident, which involved the man touching himself, happened on the Cross City Line between Longbridge and Birmingham New Street from 9.15am to 9.25am on January 26.

British Transport Police have released these CCTV images of the man who officers want to speak to in connection with the incident. It is believed boarded the train in Northfield.

He then sat opposite the 17-year-old and inappropriately touched himself and performed the indecent act.




PC Iftikhar Hussain is investigating. He said: “We do not tolerate unwanted sexual behaviour of any kind on the transport network and take all reports extremely seriously.

“If you recognise this man, or have any information that could help our investigation, please contact us.”


Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting background MSUB/ B15 of 12/03/15. Information can also be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
