THIS YEAR’S Rubery Carnival / Festival which took place at the weekend has been hailed by the organisers as one of the best ever attended.

Hundreds turned out to St Chad’s Park on Sunday (September 6) in bright sunshine for a host of activities, including fairground rides, quad bikes, a host of stalls, a climbing wall, pony rides, a bouncy castle and slide and live entertainment.

Among those performing were Search for a Star winner Kezza Belle, local female trio The Candy Dolls, singer / songwriter Esther Turner and Sophie Thompson.

Organiser Tony Maslen said: “It was a fantastic turn-out – obviously the weather helped with that – and there was a great atmosphere.

“I would very big thank you to all volunteers, singers, dancers, performers, food vendors, ride operators, side shows, charity tabletop organisers, the sponsors and of course everyone who came along for making it such a success.”
