MORE than 2,000 people attended the Stoke Prior Steam Rally which took place at the weekend at Little Intall Fields, Stoke Pound Lane.

Proceedings kicked off last Friday (September 18) with one of the biggest auctions the area had held for a long time – it had 350 lots and went on for over two-and-a-half hours.

Also on Friday, Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid also went along to the event to have a look around.

On the Saturday and Sunday, the crowds enjoyed a variety of activities, including steam engines, more than 20 miniature steam engines, vintage and classic cars, a dog show, ferret racing and even a church service on a steam organ, given by a local vicar.

Organiser Keith Shakespeare said: “We had some very good feedback from everyone who seemed to be enjoying everything we offered.

“It was a damn good show and the sun shone down on us as well which made it even better.”
