Plenty going on at Bromsgrove's Avoncroft

Bromsgrove Editorial 1st May, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

THERE will be plenty going on at Bromsgrove’s Avoncroft Museum this May Day bank holiday weekend.

On Sunday (May 1) the historic windmill will take centre stage with those who go along being able to see the sails go around, thanks to the expertise of specially trained volunteers.

In the event of rain, small tours will be given of the windmill.

Then on bank holiday Monday, there will be a traditional May Day celebration with Morris dancing, a mummers play and traditional Maypole dancing to toast the coming of spring.

There will be fun for all the family with visitors being able to check out the multitude of historic buildings that will be brought to life by historic re-enactors.

And there will be Monty the juggling jester, craft activities, have-a-go at archery sessions, live music, an appearance by the Green Man of Mercia and a blossom ceremony.
