Plans in the pipeline for Bromsgrove Market

THE NEW operators of Bromsgrove Market met with town traders last Friday to discuss its future plans.

Representatives of Warwickshire-based CJ’s Events were accompanied by Coun Rita Dent as they unveiled proposals for speciality markets and additional events to run alongside or separate from the existing three-day market.

They will be run in conjunction with Bromsgrove District Council and North Worcestershire Economic Development & Regeneration (NWEDR).

Carol Young is the events director at CJ’s Events which won the tender to operate the market from February 16.

She said: “It was wonderful to see the market, which already has a wide range of goods for sale, and the town centre bustling.

“We are passionate about the markets. Bromsgrove’s provides a brilliant base to build on.”

She added she was looking forward to putting on the events in a bid to attract shoppers from far and wide and boost the Bromsgrove economy.

Coun Dent, who is responsible for the town centre, said: “Our events area is the cherry on the cake of our town centre regeneration project and I am excited at seeing it filled with extraordinary events and speciality stalls which will celebrate our local businesses.”

Bromsgrove market runs on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
