Pensioner robbed in Bromsgrove

A PENSIONER has been robbed in broad daylight in Bromsgrove and had to be taken to hospital for minor injuries.

The woman in her seventies was crossing the rod at the junction of Mercia Close and Edwin Crescent on Monday (May 9) at 9am when someone approached her from behind and stole her shopping bag.

It had her handbag inside along with cash, her mobile phone and some personal items.

Shes received minor injuries during the attack and was taken to hospital.




The robber was a white man in his early 20s, with dark blond hair and was wearing a green top. Police believe he fled on foot along Edwin Crescent in the direction of Salwarpe Road.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is urged to call them on the non emergency 101 number or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
