A PENSIONER who has spent the last two decades working at Bromsgrove and District Indoor Bowls Club has waved farewell this week.

Jean Grove has been the office manager at the club since it opened on September 23, 1993.

To give her a good send off, staff at the club organised for Jean to go for afternoon tea at the Chateau Impney. She was also presented with a bouquet of flowers and a new watch.

Tracy Dudley, the club’s administrator, said Jean was always first on the scene whenever there had been problems.

She added she was a loyal and dedicated member and was even elected as president, between 2005 and 2007, the highest position that could be bestowed on a member.

“She is part of the furniture and the foundations of the club and it will not be the same with out her.”
