Pair in hospital after serious crash in Longbridge

A MAN and a woman have been taken to hospital after a serious crash in Longbridge yesterday morning (Thursday).

The incident happened just after 6am in Groveley Lane when a car collided with a van.

The man and woman were trapped inside the vehicle and crews from West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Fire Service worked together to free them before they were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The passenger, who was a woman in her 20s, was unconscious and needed advanced trauma care by ambulance staff and the on-board doctor.




The QE was alerted and she was taken to the hospital’s Trauma Centre for further treatment.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was given treatment at the roadside before also being taken to the QE.


The driver of the van, a man in his 30s, was assessed by ambulance staff but was discharged on scene.
