BROMSGROVE is to get a new Screwfix store this week, creating 12 jobs.

The shop will be officially opened on Sherwood Road on Thursday (July 17) as part of the DIY chain’s onging expansion plans.

Tradesmen and DIYers are invited to the event where they will also be able to show off their professional skills in a free-to-enter screw drilling competition. The person with the fastest time will win a 40ins Toshiba flat screen TV.

All products will carry a ten per cent discount from Thursday (July 17) until Sunday (July 20).

Will Asquith, the new Bromsgrove store manager, said: “We’ve created 12 brand new vacancies and have consciously chosen to employ local people from around the Bromsgrove area.

“Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service.

“Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.”

He added he felt the new Screwfix was in a great location and said he and his team had been out and about meeting local businesses and tradesmen and women, who had all been very supportive.

Deals are available online at www.screwfix.com, on Screwfix’s mobile site or over the phone by calling 0500 414141.

The store will be open from 7am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, between 8am and 6pm on Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
