THE BRAND new urban themed play area opens this weekend at Bromsgrove’s Rec, near Asda, writes Charlotte Albutt.
The area pays tribute to the road’s history and settings with its benches, bins and ‘grand arch’ entrance featuring references of the wartime drill hall which used to occupy the corner of Recreation Road and Market Street.
The area will also host Street Theatre between 11am and 3pm on Wednesday (July 27).
Coun Peter Whittaker, portfolio holder for leisure, said he was delighted with the play area which boasted modern equipment and was open in time for the school summer holidays.
