New gardens of Burcot fling open their gates for charity

TWO new gardens in Burcot will be throwing open their gates to raise funds for charities.

The plots in Appletreewick, Pikes Pool Lane, and 16 Green Hill will be collecting cash for the National Garden Scheme.

The small Green Hill garden has been designed by its owner for the last three years and the emphasis placed on it is for minimum maintenance and bright colours all year round.

Appletreewick is a long, sloping natural garden created to entice wildlife.

There is also a natural swimming pond (no paddling), along with sculptures, artefacts, seating and views to the Clent Hills from the top orchard.

The gardens will be open from midday to 5pm next Saturday (June 4) and admission will be £3.50 (children free) for both gardens with proceeds going to the NGS’ different charities.

Refreshments will be available from the nearby Fresh at Burcot Garden Centre where there will also be plants on offer for ‘buy one get one free’ to those with NGS admission tickets.
