BROMSGROVE Market will be bigger and better than ever when a ‘passionate’ new company which will be managing it reveals its plans for the event’s future.

Following a competitive tender, CJ’s Events, Warwickshire, has been selected to manage and operate the High Street market for the next five years.

CJ’s Events will operate a three day general retail market starting on February 16.

It will also have the opportunity, in conjunction with Bromsgrove District Council, to organise and operate additional events which can either run alongside or separate from the existing market.

The moves will be marked with an official launch day.

Coun Rita Dent, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “Following the regeneration of the High Street I am delighted a new operator has been appointed to give this town the market which complements our vision to create a Better Bromsgrove.

“I look forward to working with CJ’s Events to attract visitors and shoppers to our Town Centre which is one to be really proud of.”

Jamie Walker of CJ’s Events Warwickshire said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been chosen following a competitive and thorough tender process to be the new market operator for Bromsgrove markets.

“We are passionate about ensuring markets are an important element of a vibrant town.

“We have a clear and ambitious vision for growing and promoting the markets in Bromsgrove over the coming months and years.

“There will be entertainment and activities at selected weekly markets, along with themes to coincide with calendar events throughout the year.

“The markets will have a dedicated website so visitors can keep in touch with traders and local businesses which will display offers and special events – this will be launched shortly.

“We look forward to getting involved, working with Bromsgrove District Council, current and new traders, along with local businesses.”
