THE BODY of a Bromsgrove woman found in a flat in Redditch on Sunday (December 13) has been formally identified as Stacey Sollis, aged 27.

A post mortem conducted yesterday (Monday) was inconclusive and the results of further tests are now awaited.

A 32-year-old man, from Redditch, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on police bail until January.

Stacey was found on Sunday morning at around 1.36am at a property in Knowle Close in the Church Hill South area of the new town. The property is believed to be the suspect’s home.

Stacey did not live at the address but was a frequent visitor to the flat.

Residents said there has been a constant police presence at the building, from which the YMCA offers general accommodation, since 9am yesterday.

“It’s a nice quiet street so we were shocked to hear the news,” said one neighbour who lives opposite the property where Stacey was found.

Another said he did not hear any disturbance during the course of Saturday evening into the early hours of Sunday morning but woke to see the police vehicle parked across the road.

A spokesperson for YMCA Worcestershire said: “We can confirm emergency services were called to our Church Hill South property in the early hours of Sunday  December 13 and one tenant was arrested.

“We will be unable to comment further as police investigations are ongoing.”

Stacey’s family has asked that their privacy be respected while they continue to grieve.
