SPEED safety checks were carried out by the police in Hagley over the weekend.

Officers from the Hagley and Rubery Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) monitored the A456 on Saturday and Sunday (April 16 and 17) using a Pro Laser speed detection device.

Drivers who flout the law are being warned that further road safety checks are planned.

“We don’t want to catch you speeding, we just want you to keep an eye on your speed and drive safely,” added PC Tim Burling.

Among the advice offered was for people to plan their journeys in advance, giving themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations and to drive appropriately for the road and weather conditions.

It was also suggested that driving within the speed limit makes motoring more efficient and saves drivers money.
