THE ANNUAL Bromsgrove Schools Debating Competition will take place at 6.30pm next Friday (February 5) at South Bromsgrove High School – the winners of last year’s contest.
South and five other local schools will debate various hot topics in the first round.
The two highest scoring teams will progress to the final, during which they will debate the motion: ‘This house would introduce electronic voting for all UK elections.’
Mr Javid said: “The competition always produces engaging debates and provides young people across Bromsgrove with a platform to develop the valuable skills of public speaking and formulating persuasive arguments.”
Schools participating in this year’s competition include Haybridge High School, North Bromsgrove, South Bromsgrove, Bromsgrove School and Hagley RC School.
The competition is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
