REDDITCH’S MP has presented the Ronald McDonald House with a cheque for about £400 on behalf the Redditch business leaders.

Karen Lumley gave the charity the funds on Saturday (December 5) to help their Home away from home accommodation which they provide free to parents so they can stay close by to their children while they undergo treatment in children’s hospitals.

Karen was introduced to cause by Robert Holdcroft, franchisee of Redditch McDonald’s restaurants, who kindly doubled the MP’s fund-raising efforts.

She said: “This is such a worthwhile charity and I am always proud to support it and I know the business leaders would be too. I am so grateful to Robert Holdcroft for his support and for him introducing me to Ronald McDonald House.”

Robert said: “Every year the generosity of my staff and customers makes me extremely proud. This year Karen has excelled at her fund-raising efforts which is why I wanted to match her total allowing us to donate even more to this fantastic charity.”
