A MOTORCYCLIST has died in Rubery after he crashed into a barrier on Monday afternoon (August 29).

The man was riding on Redhill Lane at 2.35pm when the collision happened and emergency services were called.

Two ambulances attended and the rider was found lying on the central reservation. The paramedics tried to treat the man but he was pronounced dead at the roadside.

An ambulance spokesman said: “On arrival at the scene, crews were told that the man, who had come to rest on the central reservation, had initially collided with a barrier.

“One of the Trust’s Patient Transport vehicles had already stopped to offer assistance and together with bystanders were administering CPR on the man.

“Ambulance staff took over but unfortunately it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
