MORE THAN £8,000 was raised for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research by the Forget-Me-Not Walk held in Bromsgrove on Sunday (June 8).
Participants had the option of walking one, three, five, eight or 12 miles at the event, which started and finished at Sanders Park.
A lot of children took up the challenge of the three-mile walk which was being offered for the first time.
One youngster – baby Stanley – was only one-month old and took part in the event in his dad’s arms. The family raised £1,267 in memory of Stanley’s grandad. After the event, many of the walkers remained in the park for a picnic.
Organiser Nicole Harris said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to all who took part and helped on the day and the generosity and support of the Bromsgrove public.”
The total for this year’s fun run is also up to £12,300, meaning the two events combined have seen more than £20,000 collected.
