MORE than 165 people took part in this year’s Bromsgrove Forget Me Not Walk to raise funds for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

The event, on Sunday (June 7), saw over £7,000 raised for the cause as participants embarked on one, three, five, eight and 12-mile courses in bright summer sunshine. The walks began and ended in Sanders Park and took strollers through beautiful Worcestershire countryside, including the villages of Dodford, Chaddesley Corbett and Bournheath.

The event were expertly marshalled by members of the Bromsgrove Ramblers and all finishers were rewarded – adults with t-shirts and youngsters with medals. As well as the Forget Me Not Walk, the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Fun Run took place in Bromsgrove earlier in the year – that has now raised £19,000 with more still to come in.

Organiser Nicole Harris said: “I would like to thank everyone who has taken part in the two events and helped make them such a huge success. “I also want to say thank you to all those who have helped with the fun run and walk – without them it would not have been possible to put the events on.”
