Medieval celebration for St John's parish

Bromsgrove Editorial 7th May, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

WENCHES and Serfs of St John’s Parish were treated to a three-course medieval banquet – which turned out to be Rev Ray Khan’s first official engagement as chaplain to the Bromsgrove Court Leet.

It followed the historic organisation’s traditional inner ale tasting event which saw members begin at the Bromsgrove Unionist Club and visit the pubs in the town centre to test the quality of the beer on offer.

The Court’s Richard Harper presented Revd Khan with a cheque for £1,400 as a result of his fund-raising efforts from his year in office.

And the baliff Hamish Wilson presented head wench Shan Moule with a certificate confirming the food and wine was fit to eat.

The medieval banquet was hailed a great success. (s)
