BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid visited Meadows First School to congratulate the winner of the competition to design the Christmas card he has been sending out this year.

First prize went to Alfie Spalding, seven, who drew a picture of a festive globe and children of the world with the caption ‘Peace and Goodwill’. The card has been sent to hundreds of people including the Queen and Prime Minister.

Mr Javid said “The decision on first prize this year was tough but certainly the right one. Alfie’s card was very poignant to grown-ups and children during this festive period.”

Jadeen Hawley from Finstall First School, and a group of children from Catshill First School were the runners up.
