PUPILS and staff from Meadows First School are ‘over the moon’ after becoming the first in the area to achieve a Gold School Games Mark award.
They were handed the highest grade possible after a visit from inspectors who based their recommendations on the evidence they saw that showcased the school’s commitment to the School Games programme.
Headteacher Sue Hewitt said: “The external assessor could see how the ethos of the programme and a love of sport was embedded into school life.
“It was evident from the visit that Meadows First School is committed to supporting talented pupils to develop their sporting potential.”
