A WALKER was left with his foot facing the opposite direction after falling whilst out walking on bank holiday Monday (May 4).

The incident happened in a wood in Frankley Green, Hunnington, about 4pm.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson confirmed an ambulance, Hazardous Area Response Team, paramedics and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

And she praised the man’s excellent directions which enabled ambulance staff to leave their vehicles and travel on foot across a field and through several gates to find the woods. There the man, who was in his 40s, was propped up against a stile. He had sustained a fractured dislocation of his left ankle and was immediately given pain relief.

A splint was then put on his ankle and he was taken back to the ambulance and onto Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
