Man dies after collision with car in Bromsgrove

A TEENAGER has died after an incident with a car in Bromsgrove last night (Tuesday).

It happened at 10.20pm at the junction of the A38 and New Road when the 17-year-old, who lives in the town, was in collision with a Toyota Avensis.

The teenager suffered severe head injuries and, despite the best efforts by ambulance staff, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance service spokesperson confirmed an ambulance, a paramedic support officer and a MERIT doctor were sent to the scene and the police were in attendance.




PC Sarah Skelding, from the Operational Policing Unit, said: “This incident has tragically resulted in the death of a young man and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time for them.

“We need to establish the full circumstances of how this happened and therefore if anyone witnessed the collision or noticed either the teenager or the car involved immediately beforehand then please get in touch with us.”


She urged any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact her on 101.

The Worcestershire Coroner has been informed and an inquest will be opened in due course.

The Toyota driver, who was from Redditch, was treated for shock, but he and the passenger suffered no further injuries and were did not need further treatment.
