A CLOTHES swap event organised at a Longbridge dental practice has generated £715 for charity.
Staff at Hawkins and Wilson Dental Care, Bristol Road South, held the fund-raiser on Saturday (March 14).
Family members and friends of employees donated unwanted clothes, mainly women’s wear and children’s items, and the premises was transformed into a clothes shop for the day.
The total – boosted by a raffle – will now go to Breaking the Silence, a charity which helps those who fall victim to domestic violence, human trafficking and forced marriage.
The founder of the charity Raj Honess also went along on the day to see how the event was going.
Receptionist Gemma Bowen said: “Everyone was amazed at how well it went – we were really nervous to begin with but it became really busy.
“We were hoping to raise £400 so to get more than £700 was fantastic.”
