A PINK cabinet which stores life-saving equipment has been donated to a village church.
The special defibrillator safe was given to Lickey End Playgroup after members of the Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation won it in a competition.
Residents had to vote online for the organisation they wanted to receive the device.
And it was extra special for campaigners Robert and Maggie Underwood because it was their son Craig’s favourite colour.
He was just 17 when he suffered a cardiac arrest and had been an active member of the organisation following the death of his sister Charlotte to Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS).
Children and staff at the playgroup raised funds for the defibrillator by holding a pink-themed day where they wore pink clothes, iced biscuits and welcomed children’s TV character Doc McStuffins.
The cabinet was installed by Lee Saunders from A Blick and Son.
Mr Underwood said: “This is our first community based one so it means anyone in the area can access it at all times of the day, which is exactly what we want.”
He added the group would also be leafleting in the area to promote their free CPR training.
