A CUTTING edge new salon has opened its doors in Rubery to offer residents the chance the get the must have styles and beauty treatments.

Ashley Tomkins and her business partner Meriel Acton welcomed their first customers on Saturday (August 13) who helped them celebrate the beginning of her new adventure.

Kidderminster Mayor Mary Rayner did the honours of officially opening the hairdressers and cutting the ribbon alongside John Rayner and Coun Nicky Gale. Coun Rayner has been a loyal customer at the pair’s Kidderminster salon for several years.

Meriel said: “The reaction they had from the community was fantastic.

“We have had support from all the local businesses, from the butchers to the Co-op.

“We had a lot of people walk and I think I waxing every 20 mins.

“It was a great success.”

Residents flocked in to have a look at the new salon and all the services it offered whilst they were served non alcoholic champagne and cakes.

“We were delighted it had caused such a buzz in the area.

“We want people to know they don’t always have to book an appointment because sometimes that is difficult with childcare.

“It was a lovely day and myself and Ashley are very excited for the future.”
