Just 600 people in Bromsgrove claiming 'out of work benefits' after 55 per cent drop in six years

THE NUMBER of people claiming out of work benefits in Bromsgrove has fallen by 55 per cent in the last six years, the latest figures have revealed.

Residents receiving JobSeekers Allowance and other payments is now at 600- a drop of 741 since 2010.

The statistics were welcomed by MP Sajid Javid who held his second Bromsgrove Jobs Fair, supported by The Standard, back in February.

“With the employment rate at a record high, it’s great to see the Midland’s Engine delivering positive results.”




And, announcing he has already started planning the 2017 Bromsgrove Jobs Fair, he added: “As always, there’s still more to do and I look forward to helping more people in the area get back to work at my next Jobs Fair.”
