A BROMSGROVE woman is about the brave the shave for charity following her husband’s diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Susan Kent will be hosting a fund-raising day at the Blackwell Club at 7pm tomorrow (Saturday) in aid of o raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The 54-year-old chose to organise the free event to raise money and awareness for the charity.

Chris had surgery to treat the disease but it did not completely get rid of the cancer so he has been undergoing chemotherapy which has been a struggle for the family though Susan said he was now doing well.

“I chose to support Cancer Research UK because I think everyone will either knows someone who has been diagnosed or has been affected themselves.

“It touches everybody at some point.

“We live in a very small village but we know four men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and several women who have had breast cancer.”

Susan is considering dying her hair pink for the occasion just to add a little something extra.

She added: “I’ve always wanted to have pink hair and now I can do it without worrying about living with it like that for too long.”

The event is free and will include a barbecue, raffles, stalls. The bar will also be open for guests.
