PLANS to build a striking four-storey office building in Longbridge creating hundreds of jobs has been given the go-ahead.
The proposals put forward by St Modwen for One Park Square include 105,000sq ft of prime grade A office space at the heart of the £70million town centre.
There will be floor to ceiling windows which will fill the building with light and maximise views of the three-acre Austin Park and phase two of Longbridge regeneration scheme.
The building will over look the Midlands’ largest Marks and Spencer store when building it is completed.
One Park Square will also have its own dedicated car park with nearly 150 spaces.
Mike Murray, St Modwen’s senior development surveyor, said they were very pleased Birmingham City Council’s planning committee had followed the officer’s recommendations to grant permission for the application.
He added: “This prime office space will create hundreds of new jobs and attract more professionals to Longbridge, adding to the thriving mixed-community we’re creating here.
“This is an ideal location for occupiers that need to be in easy reach of road link and public transport connections, and want to work in a high quality environment surrounded by amenities.”
