THE CREATOR of CBeebies hit comedy drama Grandpa in my Pocket will be coming to Bromsgrove to shed some light on her life as a children’s TV writer.

Jan Page has also penned scripts for numerous youngsters’ favourites, including Thomas the Tank Engine, Fireman Sam, Postman Pat, Angelina Ballerina, The Tweenies, The Hoobs and the new Magic Roundabout. Her books include Dog on a Broomstick and The Chocolate Monster.

She will be at Artrix from 2pm to 3pm next Sunday (June 21) and, during her visit, she will be sharing some of the secrets of writing for children’s television, including how to create a world, build characters, devise stories and then bring them all to life on screen.

She will also be answering questions during the event, which has been organised by Little WORDS and is suitable for adults and children five and over.

Tickets, which are £6 for adults and £3 for children, are available by visiting www.artrix.co.uk or by calling 01527 577330.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
