RESIDENTS are being urged to get their running shoes on for this year’s Timberhonger 10k and Children’s Challenge fun run which take place over the carnival weekend.
And, with the race organisers teaming up with Bromsgrove’s Birds Brewery for this year’s event, there is even more reason for adults to enter the 10k – all finishers receive a bottle of special carnival ale, along with a carnival medal.
The Timberhonger 10k starts at 6pm in Sanders Park, with the Children’s Challenge beginning 45 minutes earlier at 5.15pm. Youngsters who finish the race also get a carnival medal.
Entry for the 10k beforehand is £14 for the adult race (£12 for running club members) or £15 (£13) on the day. Runners must be 15 or over.
The Children’s Challenge is just under a mile long and entry is £5.
Visit www.timberhonger10k.co.uk to sign up.
All profits from the race will be split between the three nominated charities – The Princess of Wales Hospital, The Primrose Hospice and The North Worcestershire Basement Project.
For more information, visit the website of call race director Mike Graham on 07881 224699.
Timberhonger Lane, New House Lane and parts of Berry Lane and Whitford Road will be closed to traffic during the race from 6pm to 7.30pm.
