Get on the buses at Wythall

WYTHALL Transport Museum will be allowing visitors to ride on their collection of vintage buses this Bank Holiday weekend, much to the excitement of fans of classic TV show ‘On the Buses’.

Malcom Keeley, a trustee of the museum, said that many of the buses were from the same period as the programme, providing a healthy dose of nostalgia for ‘On the Buses’ buffs.

Malcom added: “Hopefully our drivers and conductors won’t be such a torment as Jack and Stan in the show!”

Those who watched the show may be remembering actor Stephen Lewis, who played Inspector Blakey and sadly passed away this month.

The museum houses 100 classic buses, coaches, milk floats and bread vans, as well as games, films and a play cabin for younger children.

There will also be see miniature steam trains running.

The venue opens at 10.30am on both days.

Visit www.wythall.org.uk for more information about the museum.
