RESIDENTS braved the rain yesterday (Tuesday) to support the Frankley Family Forum with their annual fete and car boot sale.
The volunteers set up shop outside Frankley Children’s Centre where they were joined by a henna tattooer Mr Tumbles and face painters.
Dozens flocked to have a go on the prize tombola, raffle and bouncy castle and visitors enjoyed tea and cakes. All proceeds went to the forum, a charity created by local mum to fund activities for youngsters in the area and to provide services for the community.
Chairman Tammy Clayton said: “This is a way of giving the youngsters something to do so they don’t end up getting into trouble.
“We organise events like this so when something is needed in the area we can help.
“Just the other day we paid for residents top have self defence classes after a few reports of crime in the area, just to keep people safe.
“These events pay for things like that.”
