THERE will be plenty of great music, banter and laughter on offer at the annual Bromsgrove Folk Festival which takes place from next Friday (July 11) to Sunday (July 13) at The Bowling Green Inn, Shaw Lane, Stoke Prior.

The event, part of the bigger Bromsgrove Festival, gets underway on Thursday night (July 10) from 8pm to 11pm at the pub with the traditional pre-Folk Festival Singin’, Suppin’ and Session. As well as performances at The Bowling Green, all ages and all genres are more than welcome to the acoustic open mic session in the mini marquee.

Next Friday (July 11), there will be the Bromsgrove Folk Festival Friday Night Concert at The Bowling Green. Sets from Fairfield, Granny’s Attic, Mike Silver, Richard Digance and Blackbeard’s Tea Party will provide plenty of great entertainment.

Tickets (unallocated seating) start from £20.

Next Saturday (July 12), Kim Lowings and the Greenwood, Anthony John Clarke, Abie’s Miracle Tonic, Dougie Maclean and Seize the Day offer a varied line-up at The Bowling Green Inn from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. Tickets (unallocated seating) start at £22.

On the Sunday morning (July 13), there will be the Morning Walk: Singin’ and Suppin’, dance demonstrations, the World Dry Foam Flinging Championships and mini marquee entertainment from 10am.

Then, between 2pm and 5pm there will be performances by ‘Fairfield and Friends’ to bring the curtain down on what should be a fantastic festival.

For those wanting to take in the whole festival, there is camping available and full weekend tickets (excluding camping) are £39.
