THE FRANKLEY Guitar Club is due to begin its 15th season on September 14 and it is hoping to attract some new members.
The group is run by American guitarist and teacher David Schwan and the sessions take place at Holly Hill School, New Street Frankley, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm every second Wednesday.
The club is ‘performance based’ and attendees find they do not only learn to advance their skills, but they also get the experience of performing in public in a friendly environment.
Each session begins with a 30-minute guitar lesson on some aspect of playing and then time is put aside for interested people to perform what they have practised that week.
Everyone is guaranteed to be able to play at least one song and all styles and abilities are welcome.
