Foster carers needed for Blue Cross animals

Bromsgrove Editorial 3rd Oct, 2014 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

BROMSGROVE’s Blue Cross centre is looking for residents to become volunteer foster carers to look after homeless pets until a more permanent place is found for them.

The scheme helps those pets which do not cope well in kennels, along with kittens and puppies which need experience in a real home to ensure they become sociable adult cats and dogs.

That enables them to become familiar with family life and get over fears of items, such as vaccums and washing machines.

The ‘Home Direct’ project is proving successful and then, once a new home is found, they can move directly from their foster home to the new one.

It also frees up space so there is room at the centre for those with nowhere else to go.

The charity is also set to be completely refurbished and the new-look building will have a host of new facilities when it reopens next summer.

Funding for the building is also being sought by the charity so anyone who can donate would also be welcomed by the Blue Cross.

Anyone who can donate or volunteer should visit www.bluecross.org.uk or call 0300 777 1460 for more information.
