MORE than 40 past students of North Bromsgrove High School will be returning to help encourage the minds of tomorrow.
Future First, a national education charity, is running the Back to School campaign which will see the town’s alumni showing their support for the youngsters studying at their former school, on Stratford Road, on Friday, February 5 at 1.30pm.
The scheme will run around the UK from Monday, February 1, and was started after the charity carried out research which showed 70 per cent of 16 to 19-year-olds think it will be hard to get a job when they leave school or college and nearly 39 per cent do not know anyone in a job they would like to do.
The visitors educate the pupils on their careers which include social work, policing, nursing, armed forces, bookkeeping, photography, accountancy, media and more.
This is an advantage which is normally only experienced by teenagers at private schools and universities but this organisation is aiming to use the 10million adults across the country who have expressed they are willing to support students from their former schools.
The assemblies and workshops are taking place in 400 state secondary schools across the country.
