AN ELDERLY man and his dog were rescued after the pair became trapped in a brook in Belbroughton.

The incident happened at 5.48pm on Sunday (April 12) when the man suffered an ankle injury and became stuck under a tree in the stream.

He was cold and wet and his dog also became tangled up in wire.

After the pair were set free, the man was handed over to the ambulance crews.

A Hazardous, Area Response Team (HART) and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service checked him over at the scene and he was taken to Redditch’s Alexandra Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
