VISITORS to Bromsgrove’s Avoncroft Museum will be able to take a step back in time this weekend and see how their ancestors dealt with winter.

The Bleak Midwinter Living History Weekend, which takes place tomorrow (Saturay) and Sunday (January 24), will see a variety of activities take place.

Re-enactors will be cooking and carrying out leatherwork and music demonstrations in the Tudor house, firing up the bread oven for Welsh Cakes and making stew, dumplings and apple chutney in the Toll House.

There will be traditional sweets and handicrafts being made in the prefab and there will also be rag-rugging.

As well as all that, the 19th century windmill will be open and visitors are welcome to explore inside and find out about its history and milling from our volunteer guides.
