AN EXHIBITION of work by members of the Avoncroft Young Embroiderers has gone on display in the studio vestibule gallery at Bromsgrove’s Artrix.
The collection features around 70 pieces of embroidery by today’s members and some from years gone by.
Current members will be there from 10am to 1pm next Saturday (September 17) for a special ‘Come and Stitch’ session which enables residents to have a go.
A number of leaves will be embroidered during the session which will then be added to a tree panel that has been created so they can become part of the exhibition.
The Avoncroft Young Embroiderers, which are part of the national Embroiderers Guild, usually meet at Avoncroft Arts Centre once a month.
The guild also has an exhibition on the walls of the main gallery at Artrix.
This year marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of landscape designer Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown and, as part of the CB Festival, the Embroiderers Guild has exhibitions of specially produced work at many National Trust properties and other venues around the country.
This exhibition is part of that project.
Both exhibitions are on at Artrix until September 24.
