Estate agent donates £1,000 to three good causes

AN ESTATE agent has donated £1,000 towards a Fall Ball to raise funds for three good causes.

Darren Blower Estate Agents, based in Alvechurch, put forward the cash for the event which will be held on October 4 at Kings Norton Golf Club.

It will see cash collected for the Friends of Crown Meadow First School and nursery, Acorns Children’s Hospice, and PHAB.

The PTA at the school are planning to spend the cash raised from the ball on musical instruments so pupils can get creative and showcase their talents.

It comes amidst a campaign by Darren Blower to support the local community by donating £100 to a good cause from each successful sale in 2014.

And it is the seller who can nominate where the money goes.

Organisations which will benefit from the scheme include local schools and churches, youth and community centres, groups for children and the elderly and support groups.

It is hoped many of the causes will be local – from villages, including Alvechurch and Rowney Green, and areas of Bromsgrove and Redditch.

Mr Blower told The Standard: “We wanted to give something back and the school is at the centre of the village and its community.”
