BROMSGROVE Library became a vibrant hub for Diwali celebrations last week, marking one of its final events before it moves to new premises at the end of this month.

Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Light, captivated the attention of both children and adults who took part in activities including the ancient art of rangoli and henna tattoo designs.

The Bromsgrove Indian Community Forum is known for staging this very special event and last week’s celebrations were yet another example of integrating diverse members of the community through culture and creativity.

The forum’s president BK Choudhari said: “It’s amazing to learn 600 people came through the library doors on Diwali.

“We are so happy to see members of the Bromsgrove community taking such a genuine interest.

“Regardless of class, colour or creed, it brings us all together as human beings.

“We look forward to many more years of celebrating Diwali with members of the Bromsgrove community and thank Bromsgrove District Council for their genorisity in helping us to organise this function.”
