THE ANNUAL pantomime at Bromsgrove’s Artrix gets underway this Sunday (December 13).
Performances of All and Sundry’s Dick Whittington will take place at 7pm every night, excluding Wednesday (December 16) between now and next Sunday (December 20).
And there will be matinees at 2pm this Sunday and next Saturday and Sunday (December 19 and 20).
The show, being directed by Alison Berrisford and featuring the Stage Door Dance Academy, centres around the King Rat who uses his hoards of rodents to bring London to its knees and take it over.
Hero Dick and his cat arrive in the capital and, after meeting under-pressure shop owner Alderman Fitzwarren and his beautiful daughter Alice, embark on a quest to defeat the evil villain and return London to its former glory.
Alison said: “The rehearsals are almost done, the cast are ready, and with 2,000 tickets sold already, the audiences are waiting.
“Dick Whittington is a fast paced, exciting and traditional family pantomime with toe tapping songs, dazzling dances, corny jokes and much, much more.
“Dick Whittington has all the ingredients to start off your Christmas holidays with a bang – oh yes it does.”
Tickets for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are £14 (£13 concessions) or £43 for a family (two adults, two children or one adult and three children).
