A SURPRISE proposal at Webbs Garden Centre swept one woman off her feet.

Cheryl Tindale, 40, from Stourbridge, was visiting her favourite store and browsing the shelves when her partner Jason Coe casually moved her towards a ring display.

While next to the cabinet Cheryl noticed a stunning diamond and white gold ring nestled amongst the others with a tag saying ‘will you marry me Cheryl Tindale’.

The Dudley Council team manager recognised the ring straight away as it was one she had previously tried on in Geneva, which Jason had secretly bought before arranging the surprise proposal with Webbs staff.

Cheryl said she had no idea what Jason was planning when they stopped off at her favourite shop to look at the plants and enjoy a coffee.

Delighted Cheryl said yes and Webbs treated the couple to a champagne lunch in the garden centre restaurant.

Jason said they had gone snow boarding in France, in February, and had a great time.

“We stopped off in Geneva for our flight and we were looking around the shops when I saw this ring which just matched Cheryl’s great personality and spark.

“So I said go on try it on, it fitted and I said ‘one day maybe?’ – I went back and got it as it matched the sensible side and the get up and go, try anything, side to Cheryl and was also very beautiful.”

Jason added Cheryl shopped at Webbs and was always telling him it was her favourite store in the world so he could not think of anywhere more suitable to pop the question.

“Sometimes you meet that person who you know you want to spend the rest of your life with and for me Cheryl is that girl – I’m a very fortunate man.

“We would like to say a big thank-you to everyone involved at Webbs who made this such a special day for us both – words cannot praise them all enough.”

The happy couple, who both have a passion for the outdoors and sports such as walking, mountain biking and snowboarding have known each other for nine months and are currently buying their first home in Stourbridge.
