Daniel Speed campaign draws to close

A CAMPAIGN to raise £10,000 to help five-year-old Bromsgrove boy Daniel Speed to walk is nearing its target.

South Birmingham yoga instructor Jon Moult is one of the latest to add a whopping £2,234 to the total.

Jon and his practitioners all took part in a sponsored sun salutation at the Abbey Stadium, in Redditch.

The money will go towards helping Daniel’s wish to walk by paying for specialist equipment and treatment which he needs as it is not paid for by the NHS.

So far, thanks to the money raised, Daniel has been booked in for two physiotherapy sessions and has five pieces of equipment already ordered.

Laura, Daniel’s mum, said they were doing really well and after a charity night, this weekend, they think they might reach their target.

“I was really shocked when I heard about Jon’s fund-raiser,” she added.

“We went to meet them all at the end of a yoga class and it was overwhelming.

“I would like to thank everyone for all their support and donations.”
