A SPECIAL coffee morning has been organised in memory of a Rubery teenager who lost his battle with leukaemia.

All the proceeds from the event, being held in tribute to 13-year-old Jay Demetriou, will be given to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The coffee morning will take place between 9.30am and 11.30am next Friday (February 13) at Longbridge Methodist Church, where Jay used to go when he went to Jellybabies Nursery.

Residents will be able to enjoy a cake and a coffee as well any number of therapies including acupuncture, Indian head, hand and foot massages, aromatherapy and reflexology.

Jacqueline Walker, from Longbridge Methodist Church, said: “It would be lovely to have the coffee pot full and for people to show there support for Great Ormond Street Hospital and to remember Jay.”
