Coffee, cake and tunes at St John's Church as Steve Cowperthwaite heads to town

ORGANIST Steve Cowperthwaite will be performing at Bromsgrove’s St John’s Church next Saturday in the latest Coffee and Cake Concert.

The event at 10.30am next Saturday (April 16) will see Steve play a selection of original works and arrangements including Bach’s famous Toccata and fugue in D minor and ‘Cavatina’ by John Mayers (the theme from ‘The Deer Hunter’).

As the name suggests, following the concert that is suitable for all the family, there will be coffee and cake and an opportunity for people to have a go themselves on the organ.

This year’s season of concerts concludes on May 21 when the Bianchi String quartet will be performing Haydn at his jolliest.

Admission is free, although donations will be appreciated.
