RESIDENTS can go and explore Bromsgrove’s historic St John’s Church and find out more about its history at a special Open Day next Saturday (September 12).

The event will take place from 2pm to 5pm and enable visitors to check out a number of stalls, view baptism, marriage and burial records, have prayers said for their families, have bespoke family poems created and take part in children’s crafts.

There will also be delicious cream teas, history walks and trips up the church’s famous tower – a small charge applies for those. The popular event will conclude at 5pm when there will be a special Community Service to celebrate the town and its oldest church.
