A ‘CHIN Wag and Bring and Buy Sale’ will be held by the Macular Society’s Barnt Green Support Group on Friday (August 26).

The Tea for MD event – at 2pm at the Barnt Green Parish Centre, behind St Andrew’s Church, Sandhills Road – will have the theme ‘wear something bright for sight’.

It follows on from last year’s which was centred around a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Sunny Bains, who is completely blind, is offering members one-to-one training on using smart phones and tablets.

Shafik Haji from Eye Opticians will also be bringing a box of Norville lenses, specifically designed for people with Advanced Macular Degeneration (AMD) to try.

Amanda Read, the Macular Society’s regional manager, is also hoping to find some new volunteers for two free training courses in Birmingham – Gadget Guides on November 9 and Gadget Guides Hi-Tech on November 10.

Call Wendy on 0121 445 1585 or Alan on 01527 877864 for more on the Barnt Green Support Group.
